ACM Trays FAQ's

1) How durable are your ACM trays ?

ACM is a very flat material made up of a plastic core coated on both sides with a thin aluminium skin, which is in turn coated with a polyester colour coating. Most (but not all) ACM sheets are warranted for outdoor use.

2) How do the ACM trays compare to solid aluminium trays ?

ACM trays have the advantage of being cheaper because they are quicker to fabricate, require no welding or paint finishing and they are lighter. On the other hand, if you require a colour that is not available from any of the ACM manufacturers, printing is an option (but not as durable) or painting, so the cost difference is reduced, but still in favour of the ACM.

3) Do we have a choice about the surface finish ?

Check out the options of colours and surface finishes available on the product page. You will see that most of the colours available have a Matt or Gloss option, whilst the speciality colours such as mirror or brushed have only the one option.

4) Is there a limit on size ?

Practically the limiting factors are available sheet size and our CNC bed size (3000 x 1500mm) That said, larger sizes can easily be achieved by making interlocking panels.

5) Can they be supplied 'flat' for us to fold & glue ?

Yes, this is the cheaper option because we are not doing the folding & assembly work, - and the packaging required is substantially less.

6) How easy to assemble and fix are they ?

You can order these trays fully folded and assembled so that all you have to do is fix the rails to the wall and mount your tray.

Alternatively, you can order the tray panels flat for you to fold the returns and glue the corners.

7) Can you supply all the fixings we'll need ?

Yes, if you choose that option on your order we'll supply aluminium angle rails pre-drilled with wall plugs & screws to fix to the wall and screws to mount the tray to the angle rails – although you will need to drill those holes.

8) How long is delivery from order ?

Generally speaking despatch is within 3-5 days of order for simple trays. If you are looking for more involved trays with flat cut letters on the face or fret cut letters and internal illumination, delivery will be a little extended. 9) We need quite a number of small display panels – can we have a discount ?

Yes, our discount structure is based on the number of same size trays and/or the total number of trays overall. Our website calculates the discount on the number of same size panels, (ensure you are logged into the website to see the discounts) but for quantities of differing sizes you will need to contact our sales team on sales@tradesignz.com/01524 841726.

10) Can you do round ACM trays ?

Sadly no because all our ACM trays are folded from a single sheet of material and therefore rectangular in shape. If you want a different shape we suggest solid aluminium where the panels are fabricated and welded together before being powder coated.
